Scrapwala started in 2018 when our founder noticed a simple problem: families in Hyderabad had scrap piling up at home — old newspapers, broken appliances, metal from renovations — but no reliable way to sell it. The local kabadiwala would show up unannounced, use a rigged scale, and pay whatever he felt like.
We decided to change that. We invested in NABL-certified digital scales, created a transparent pricing system based on daily market rates, trained a uniformed team with background checks, and introduced digital receipts on WhatsApp.
Today, over 10,000 Hyderabad households trust Scrapwala for their scrap needs. We operate across 32+ areas, process over 200 pickups monthly, and have paid out more than 2.4 crore rupees to our customers.
